COREY GREEN: OWNER /STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

With over 17 years of experience in the industry & 10 plus years as a business owner, coach Corey is a world-class practitioner, industry disrupter, and renowned in the field of Strength & Conditioning. His diverse involvement in various aspects of coaching in multi-disciplinary areas makes him highly regarded and respected among his peers.
Corey was the Head Strength & Conditioning coach at the West Perth Football Club. After taking on the role in 2018, Corey and the team built arguably the most professional and performance-driven strength and conditioning programs in the WAFL system. In the 5-years at the helm West Perth achieved 5-consecutive league finals campaigns, 2 x league Grandfinals, 1 x league Premiership (2022), 2 x Reserves Grand finals and 1 x Reserves Premiership (2019).
Corey also founded Perth’s leading Strength and Conditioning facility: Athletic Institute. AI trains between 200 – 300 youth athletes from a wide range of sporting fields. He also works closely with professional athletes competing at the highest levels in their sport, including the AFL, Triathlon, Golf & many more. Corey was a senior intern at the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) where he implemented programs for elite athletic institutions like the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and the Canadian Olympic Centre.
Corey’s personal training goals are diverse. Having competed in sports like bodybuilding, Powerlifting, and now Triathlon, He truly understands what it takes to train for performance across many disciplines. Corey is now a 5 x Ironman athlete, with the aim to qualify for world championships in Kona Hawaii. Corey has both the knowledge and experience, so when it comes to programming and coaching he eloquently understands the classic blend of the art and science of working with elite athletes.

CONNOR SMITH: PARTNERSHIP & OPERATIONS MANAGER
Connor has a passion for sports and extensive experience in the health and fitness industry which is integral in driving our mission for elite athletic development forward. With a background in under-age state-level cricket, Connor brings experience and a deep understanding of the physical demands of competitive sports. He enjoys all sports, particularly Cricket, AFL, and Golf, and recently completed his first triathlon.
Having participated in various athletic disciplines, Connor has firsthand knowledge of the benefits of recovery for injury prevention and sporting longevity.
As Partnerships & Operations Manager, Connor will optimise member experiences to foster a culture of holistic well-being. Drawing upon his sporting background, he will also work on integrating recovery modalities and injury prevention strategies into our offerings. Connor’s passion for sports and his strategic vision and operational expertise, make him an invaluable asset to our team and a driving force behind our continued success.

Chris has been a leading Strength and Conditioning Coach for over a decade. He is also a qualified Exercise Rehabilitation Consultant and an Accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist.
Chris is highly dedicated in the field of the development of strength, power, conditioning, and overall performance.
His drive and passion lie in using these skills to change the lives of individuals suffering from acute and/or chronic ailments, illnesses, or conditions.
Chris’ depth and breadth of knowledge is a powerful and intrinsic element of his coaching style. His command of the intricacies of the human body and his ability to translate that to bring out athletic excellence is inspiring.
Chris has been a State Bodybuilder competitor for many years in various federations. This has enabled Chris to develop his experience in the ‘artistry’ and ‘science’ of devising progressive, resistance training plans to elicit true greatness on the competition stage.

GIORGIA NEILL: EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Giorgia’s experience in the health and fitness industry extends from a clinical base to the gym, which has helped her develop an extensive range of skills and knowledge.
Her passion lies in using exercise to improve physical function and quality of life in individuals living with acute, chronic, and complex conditions. Her ability to connect with others on a personal level, creates a comfortable atmosphere, encouraging and empowering individuals to achieve their goals. This holistic approach draws on the importance of self-awareness and mental well-being to maximise performance and recovery.
Giorgia’s dedication to her own health and well-being makes her a role model for females in a male-dominated industry, providing an example of what one can succeed if you put your mind to it.

KYE CHAMBERLAIN: EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Kye is a committed and driven coach who specialises in many areas in the health and fitness industry, including high performance, injury and illness rehabilitation, and functional movement. Having completed his Exercise & Sport Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), Kye has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in a multitude of fields that have helped shape him into a coach is passionate about improving the athletic prowess and quality of life in all individuals he meets.
Kye is a state-level basketballer who currently plays in the NBL1 West for the Warwick senators and has previously represented WA at national tournaments and been involved with the Perth Wildcats youth academy for several years. His playing career was disrupted after tearing his ACL in 2021 and 2022 but has since been able to recover and begin playing at a high level once again.
Kye uses these experiences of being an athlete and someone who has gone through a major injury to be relatable, personable, and understanding and hence can create a comfortable, encouraging, and positive environment for people of all different backgrounds and experiences to feel safe and confident in achieving their physical and mental goals. This approach allows for open communication and sensitivity to people’s needs, assisting in maximising performance and recovery and overall enjoyment in engaging in exercise.
Along with Kye’s dedication and discipline with his health and fitness, he is focused on shining a light on the importance of using individualised and structured exercise focusing on movement mechanics and injury prevention. In addition, he wants to encourage and educate others on using exercise as a primary source to prescribe solutions to whatever goals or needs they may want to achieve

CONNOR NICOLAIDIS: STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Connor Nicolaidis is a passionate and approachable Strength & Conditioning Coach with a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning from ECU and a Bachelor of Sport Science, Exercise, and Health from UWA. He currently leads the WAFL Strength & Conditioning Program at the West Coast Eagles and holds an ASCA Level 2 accreditation. Connor specialises in performance testing, on-field conditioning, and designing individualised strength and power programs that optimise athletic performance through data-informed, evidence-based methods.
His coaching philosophy is built on creating a supportive environment that motivates athletes to push their limits and strive for excellence. Dedicated to continuous learning, Connor seeks to implement the latest sports science innovations to enhance the performance and well-being of his athletes. His friendly and encouraging demeanour allows him to build strong relationships, ensuring that each athlete feels supported throughout their training journey.
Outside of coaching, Connor is an avid soccer player who loves a good challenge—he dares anyone to a 20m sprint! Whether working with elite competitors or those just beginning their fitness journey, Connor’s unwavering commitment to their success makes a lasting impact on their athletic development.

ANTON PHAN: EXERCISE SCIENTIST

Anton’s academic journey commenced with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Health from the University of Western Australia, where he developed a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, and sports science. Following his academic pursuits, Anton delved into the practical realm of exercise science, gaining invaluable insights and refining his skills through hands-on experiences. Starting as a placement student here at Al in 2021, Anton then completed a professional internship and has remained on board with us since.
He is passionate about instilling proper movement patterns and biomechanics early on, emphasizing the importance of a solid foundation for a lifetime of physical health and a resilient body.
He strives to make fitness an integral part of each person’s developmental journey whether they be old or young, athletes or just the regular person trying to improve their quality of life.
His approach is grounded in a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, allowing him to tailor exercise programs that are both effective and safe. Whether designing programs to increase performance on the field, just starting at the gym or just looking to improve general fitness and well-being, he is dedicated to providing the optimal solution in reaching your goals.

ALEXANDER PALASSIS-BLACK: EXERCISE SCIENTIST

Alex is a dedicated coach at Athletic Institute, specialising in training youth athletes aged 8-17 to help them achieve their goals both on and off the field. With a strong educational background in Sports/Exercise Science and Sports Commerce, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his role.
Alex’s expertise lies in strength training for sports-specific goals and promoting overall general health for individuals in their daily lives. His previous experience includes working part-time at the West Coast Eagles as a performance analyst. Additionally, his background in semi-professional football during high school, coupled with overcoming four knee surgeries, has fueled his passion for fitness and resilience.
Personal achievements, including completing a 110km bike ride and training for a half marathon in 2024, exemplify Alex’s commitment to health and wellness.
As a coach, Alex is known for his empathetic and individualised approach, inspiring vision, and commitment to holistic development. By prioritising stability, strength, aerobic efficiency, and anaerobic performance, he ensures athletes excel in their chosen sports while maintaining long-term health and vitality.

MADISON SIMON: EXERCISE SCIENTIST

Maddy is a dynamic individual whose journey through sports, health, and academia has shaped a passion for empowering others in their pursuit of wellness.
Raised in the world of competitive netball and touch football, Maddy’s early experiences ignited an interest in health and fitness. This enthusiasm led her to commence academic endeavors at Curtin University in 2014, laying the groundwork for her future pursuits.
Maddy has had diverse roles within the health sector. From aiding at a physiotherapy clinic to supporting football and rugby clubs, each experience deepened her understanding of human physiology and the importance of personalised care. A pivotal shift came with Maddy’s engagement in AI, where she discovered a newfound passion for guiding individuals through strength and conditioning programs. Maddy is now undergoing formal education in Exercise Physiology, cementing her dedication to holistic health practices.
Maddy’s affinity for working with youth athletes is unmistakable, nurturing their potential and witnessing their achievements firsthand. Whether it’s fostering resilience or honing skills, she thrives on working with young talent.

Harry has a rich background in exercise science and over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.
Harry holds a degree in Exercise Science, which underpins his comprehensive approach to training and performance enhancement. His journey in the world of competitive swimming is marked by significant achievements, including his role as Director of the Breakers Swim Club. Under his leadership, the club has produced numerous top-tier swimmers, consistently demonstrating excellence in the sport.
Harry’s dedication and passion for swimming have also seen him represent Australia as a Team Coach, a testament to his exceptional coaching ability. In addition, he has played a pivotal role in the development of young athletes through his leadership of the Swimming WA performance pathway teams. His work with these teams has been instrumental in nurturing the next generation of swimming talent.
Beyond the pool, Harry extends his expertise to support triathletes with their swim training, helping them enhance their performance in multi-sport events. His collaboration with various schools across Perth underscores his commitment to fostering athletic development at all levels, ensuring students receive expert guidance and training.

Matt brings nearly 10 years of private practice sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience to Athletic Institute. Holding the title of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Matt is passionate about combining the benefits of manual therapy with high-quality exercise-based rehab.
With clinical experience with the Fremantle Dockers, Perth Lynx, Canberra Capitals, Victorian Bushrangers, Warwick Senators, and the WA Football Commission, Matt has a vast array of sporting experience which he utilises to support every one of his clients.

Massage Therapist
KAITLYN BEATON: MASSAGE THERAPIST
Kaitlyn is a Remedial Therapist who uses a combination of movement and soft tissue therapy to allow patients to excel after treatment. Kaitlyn has experience in treating a variety of patients from elite athletes, the elderly, chronic pain sufferers and people with disabilities. Coming from an elite sporting background of athletics, volleyball and now football, Kaitlyn understands how important it is to maintain the body. Whether you’re putting your body through strenuous exercise continuously, or you have back pain, Kaitlyn enjoys helping everyone get to the next level.
Not only having a sporting background, Kaitlyn has also taken a great interest in Barefoot Training and myofascial release. Myofascial release is a type of physical therapy, often used to treat myofascial pain syndrome. Dry needling, muscle energy techniques & proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching are also among the other techniques Kaitlyn uses throughout her treatments.
Away from the clinic, Kaitlyn is always active! If she’s not in the clinic or at footy, you’ll find her down the coast swimming, running, or drinking a good coffee!

She is a passionate advocate for nutrition’s powerful role in optimizing health and performance. Lizzie enjoys working with individuals and teams from all backgrounds to support and empower them to optimise their health and performance outcomes through balanced, sustainable, enjoyable lifestyle modification.
Lizzie has worked across several sporting environments from the pathway level through to the elite professional level. Previously, the Perth Glory Academy and Western Force Elite and Academy Squads. Currently working with pathway athletes at the Western Australian Institute of Sport. Over her years of involvement in sporting teams, she has developed a keen interest in working with aspiring youth athletes. Lizzie is compassionate and empathetic, committed to creating a safe supportive environment to assist athletes in reaching their potential.

Dr Sacha Fulton is a highly respected and qualified consultant, trainer, coach, workshop facilitator, and author of Peak Preparation and Performance. As the owner of Peak Preparation and an Australian leader in sports science, Sacha offers over 20 years experience in the field of scientific training and preparation techniques for athletes. She is driven by her purpose to enable high performance in any situation. As an Accredited Sports Scientist Sacha is sought for her expertise as a coach consultant, and as an athlete and team preparation specialist at local, state, national, and Olympic levels.
As a domain expert on the science of performance, Dr Sacha Fulton has an interest in improving player performance in sports and life through off-field development. Sacha builds knowledge, understanding, and awareness of sports science best practices to develop player captaincy and leadership, with transformative wellbeing practices.
Dr Sacha Fulton has a vision to develop healthy, capable, and resilient young athletes while attaining widespread, inclusive, sustainable, and enjoyable participation and success for all levels of individual athletic achievement.
