We don't plan to fail, we program for success

#MotivationalMonday

6:00am Monday morning your alarm goes off and suddenly hitting snooze gives you as much satisfaction as finishing that cronut (croissant x doughnut) last night… But that Monday morning workout will be worth it! Here’s why:

1. Clean slate

In case you never got around to those New Year’s resolutions, that’s okay, you just need a Monday to start fresh! Forget last week, forget those cookies you secretly scoffed on the weekend, forget that run you didn’t do. It’s time to start thinking about this week’s goals, this week’s delicious healthy food, and this week’s workouts you’ll smash!

2. Endorphins!

Everyone knows exercise releases endorphins (thanks Legally Blonde), and everyone knows you’re just one exercise away from a good mood!

3. No excuses

We’ve all been tired after work, been stuck in traffic, got home too late, had to pick the kids up from school, had last minute dinner plans etc and that workout you promised yourself you would do, only eventuated into an idea. Starting your workout bright and early (we open at 6am!) means getting it done before your excuses start.

4. The zzz’s

Studies have found that exercising more reduces the time it takes to fall asleep and increases the length of sleep time. It also decreases stress and anxiety which can keep people up at night.

5. Boosts metabolism

Been chugging down the hot water with lemon? Adding cardio and weights into your morning routine increases your resting metabolic rate so you burn more calories even when you’re doing nothing. On average a one hour session at the Athletic Institute will burn around 500 calories!
